Plan and Conduct Meetings that make your Business a Success

You can hold effective meetings and become a more successful leader if you avoid these seven mistakes. Here’s how.

Myth 1: Executives belong in meetings.

Although the demands of business cause executives to attend more meetings than other professionals, executives should be very selective on which meetings they attend. Top management is responsible for vision, strategy, plans, and communication. That means wise executives spend most of their time thinking, learning, planning, and communicating. Inefficient, ineffective meetings waste the time of the company’s most valuable employees.

Better: Ask probing questions when invited to make sure that your presence will add value. For example, “What are your goals for the meeting?” “How will I contribute to achieving those goals?” and “How can I prepare for the meeting?” After all, you want to contribute to an effective meeting if you decide to attend.

My Kids Never Stick to Anything

We hear it more and more every day. Parents say, “My kids never stick to anything.” “My son started playing soccer and he didn’t like it, so he quit.” “My daughter began gymnastics lessons but she didn’t like it, so she quit.” We seem to be developing a generation of young people who give up before giving anything a real chance. Isn’t this something that all of us tried to do as youngsters?

We should try to give Space to our Spouse

God has created this world. So he created both man and woman with equal dignity and respect. So accordingly every person has his or her own right. No one is bond with any chains. If there are more restrictions, there will be more tension and loss of joy. Freedom should be given to everyone irrespective of class, gender or creed. As every man has his own life. So they want to lead that life also accordingly. No one has any right to stop someone from being what they are or what they want to be.
